The Greening Youth Foundation’s (GYF) mission is to engage under-represented youth and young adults while connecting them to the outdoors and careers in conservation. Over the past 20 years, GYF has recruited and managed thousands of college students, fellows, recent graduates, and entry-level professionals to work with federal agencies, non-profit organizations, and private companies.
In collaboration with the Growald Climate Fund (GCF), GYF has created the International Climate Fellowship (ICF). A fellowship program aimed at increasing the number of diverse young adult with international experience working in the climate and environmental sectors. Greening Youth Foundation is excited about our fourth year of the International Climate Fellowship Program.
This fellowship is a 6-month virtual opportunity for candidates to work on climate/sustainability projects with host site organizations. The fellowship provides host organizations and emerging workforce professionals with the unique opportunity to connect with climate leaders from around the world who are experienced in and focused on environmental solutions and sustainability. Fellows will form a network of changemakers who are prepared to collaborate and implement innovative strategies to address collective challenges across a wide range of sectors.
As a part of the fellowship, fellows will work remotely for an environmental organization for 6-months. In addition to their placements, fellows participate in an 8-week Leadership Training where they learn leadership skills and virtually meet leaders in the field. During the fellowship, fellows will also travel internationally to Nigeria to meet with the GYF West Africa Team, attend an international sustainability conference, and engage with local communities to offer assistance with enhancing sustainable efforts.
