Historian/Interpreter will research and present programs about the role of the United States Colored Troops (USCT) who occupied Vicksburg during Reconstruction following the end of the Civil War. The intern will present interpretive programs on their research both in the park and in the community. As part of their interpretive duties, the intern will be exposed to living history and given opportunities to experiment with 3rd person interpretation of USCT. The research will be packaged for future employees to use, and the intern will work with park staff to add their research to the park website and help design a temporary display highlighting their scholarly findings.
